It’s All in the Family

Here at Bluebelle Event Venue it became the Lusby Family passion to create memorable and unique events for the Bemidji area. This is how it all started…

Growing up we always knew mom had big dreams to own a business.

She instilled in us at a very young age to work hard and follow our dreams, no matter how big, scary or far-fetched they could be. She was and still is our biggest cheerleader, putting her dreams aside to let us live out ours. Throughout our childhood there were many opportunities that came and went, with her family always taking number one priority.

Mom has always been “the hostess with the mostest”. She loves to bring people together and celebrate every event in life, no matter how big or small. Her creativity and love for us shined through the planning of our many birthday parties.

Seriously, they were amazing.

To name a few:

-Jessa and Jaimee’s Luau Birthday Bash

-Jessa and Jaimee’s Sport and Spa Day

-Jessa and Jaimee’s Messy Party

-Jessa and Jaimee’s Mystery 13th Birthday (we got to ride around town in a limousine collecting clues from an ultimate scavenger hunt)

Mom’s creative party planning is paralleled with her compassionate and caring soul. Our holidays were sometimes shared with those we didn’t know well, but knew they needed a family to join, which made each holiday special to us in a unique way. She passed her love for events and sharing in people’s joy to us, her daughters. So much in fact that Jaimee followed her dreams and became a wedding and event coordinator.

In 2016 Jessa got engaged and our family began the epic hunt for the perfect wedding venue. We found little to choose from in the town we love the most, our hometown of Bemidji, MN.

Then, the spark ignited.

What if we could do the impossible…own a family business, share our love for event planning with those around us, and create amazing celebrations for our community….?

Here.
We.
Go.

You know how they say it takes a village to raise a child? Well, it takes a family to start a business. All seven of us have put time, energy and research into making this dream a reality. This 2-year journey has given us the opportunity to discover more about ourselves, the event planning industry and our beloved community; and we are just getting started.

Being able to work together as a family and watch our mom, the most deserving woman in the world, finally get to see her dream come to life has been truly rewarding. We feel blessed to be able to share our dream with all of you and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

So welcome to The Bluebelle, our Mama’s dream come true.
