Tracie and Mark

27 years ago we had our BIG day!  The day I had dreamt about since I was 10 years old!  The day I would marry my prince charming! The biggest day of our lives that got so busy, we almost forgot to slow down and enjoy it.  We had spent the week prior to our wedding day tying birdseed bags, making tissue paper flowers, creating a picture board, cutting out white doves from styrofoam, making bows for the church pews, and sewing together a big net to hold all the balloons above the dance floor (How times have changed)!

Family and friends were in town and we promptly put EVERYONE to work. The day before the wedding was decorating day and pure CHAOS! We were up by 6 a.m, racing from home to the church, 2 miles from home, then to the reception hall, another 15 miles from the church, to tape, staple, glue, and tack all the décor to the appropriate spots.

At 3 p.m. we raced back home, frantically rushing to become beautiful, only to race back to the church for rehearsal (darn pew bows fell down, had to re-tape), and then back to the reception hall for our rehearsal dinner.
Whew! Out of state family and friends swirled about throughout the day , but there just wasn’t enough time to stop and visit – there were too many things to get done!!  As I went to bed that night, I was exhausted. Just as I drifted off, I heard a tapping on my bedroom window from outside, tap, tap, tap…I opened the shade to see my prince charming smiling at me. I slid the window open and he said “we are getting married today, I can’t wait for us to become husband and wife, I love you” and then he was gone! I will never forget that moment as long as I live.

June 8, 1991 was a gorgeous, sunny day!  My parents, sister, cousins, and aunts all rushed out of the house to take care of the final details.  I met them all at the church when it was time to get ready. We laughed in the basement of the church telling stories and primping for the big moment when I would see my prince.  Everyone flew around checking on the details and making sure everything was in place. We said our “I do’s” and then everyone rushed to the reception hall. We celebrated with our family and friends as we ate, drank, and danced the night away!  We were finally Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lusby and we were the happiest newlyweds alive!

Looking back, how lovely it would have been if we could have all just relaxed, enjoyed the day, and not worried about all the details!  What if there would have been one person to coordinate our entire event ? What if the entire day’s festivities could have been at one place to eliminate all the rushing?

And what if our family would not have had to tear down all the tables, chairs , and décor that evening after we left our party?  Hmmmmmmmmmmm….what if??

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. I know what you’re thinking: that sounds totally cliché. But it really was… it was the perfect day for US. Walking hand and hand through the vineyards together in the warm July sun, saying our vows in a beautiful and serene outside setting and being able to enjoy every moment without any worries… that’s what made our day the best day ever.

We loved being able to create our wedding together and make it anything and everything we wanted! We had a fun outdoor lemonade stand to greet guests, wine slushies and corn hole at social hour, a cute DIY photobooth station, and of course some awesome 80’s music sprinkled strategically throughout the whole day! ☺
Getting to add your unique touches and creative ideas is really what makes your day extra special to the two of you. We are so excited to help all of our couples create amazing one-of-a-kind wedding days that are perfect for them!
Being able to have an on-hand wedding coordinator to help with the venue layouts, design aspects, timelines and any questions we had really helped to make our wedding planning journey stress-free and fun!

The Bluebelle is all about creating your perfect day the stress-free way! Our coordinators are there to help you every step of the way when it comes to your wedding day details and even take care of setup and tear down of all your design elements (even stuff you bring in yourself!). We truly couldn’t have been happier with how amazing and memorable our wedding day was and are so honored and happy to be creating beautiful wedding memories for you.

Marrying your best friend is truly the most magical day of your life! I firmly believe everyone’s wedding day should be everything they have ever dreamed of and more! Our wedding day could not have been any more perfect as we kept our day all about the two of us and our love together! We customized everything about our day from our timeline to late night snacks and everything in between! This really made our day feel extra special, and unlike any wedding we had ever attended before. Having a flexible timeline really started the specialization of our day, something we are very excited to offer to you at the Bluebelle! Our guests arrived to our day to be welcomed by a social hour first, offering free drinks and appetizers before settling in to watch us tie the knot! This was such a great way to calm the nerves of all while starting our event with fun, chatter, and no empty stomachs =)

From our social hour guests headed to our ceremony! After were said our I Do’s, we then went straight into our reception welcoming and thanking guests as they entered to find their seats!

We truly had the most beautiful reception space! We were able to use an amazing designer to help us create our dream room. I will never forget how beautiful our reception room was, and we didn’t have to do a single ounce of setup or teardown- how AMAZING!

Trust me you do not want to be setting out place cards or lighting candles on your wedding day- We also created a floor plan of the exact layout we wanted for our day- not a “set” room, this is such an amazing feature that we can’t wait to let you take full advantage of!

After our dinner we went straight into our dance party that was soon accompanied by an ice cream truck for dessert! Ice cream is my favorite thing to eat, so of course we HAD to have it! We also want you to personalize your wedding day dessert to whatever you want! We danced all night long and ended our party with late night pizza! (Cody’s favorite thing to eat), YUM! One thing we want you all to do is to really take time to enjoy each other on your wedding day- this is exactly what our all-inclusive wedding gave us, and we could not be happier to share this feeling with you!
